I Have Returned.

Another long hiatus, but I just finished my first job as a freelance painter today. It's good to be painting again. I wish I'd had this enthusiasm for the craft in school, but better is late than never. Now I'm painting every day.

So, here is the book cover I just did for Patricia Moed, from the first draft to the last, in order. Big changes from start to finish, but I'm happy with it. The book is historical fiction and about the family of a child who was hit by Mussolini in a hit-and-run. The cover is the mother of the child and the car in question. At first, I started with Mt. Vesuvius in the background, but it didn't read correctly.

Thanks to my employer, and to my good friend Brandon Moore (http://www.artofbrandonmoore.com/blog) for helping me re-learn to paint.
